After a week off from the build due to the bricklayer being on holiday, it gave us chance to get on top of the other jobs around the farm. Lisa has finished poo picking the remaining paddocks, Lily has been out and topped all the stud boys paddocks, some fence repairs and other general maintenance all sorted. It does feel great when you are back on top of the jobs and you can take five and sit back and admire what we have in our lives.
I turned 40 on the 14th and it surprised me how many people asked what I was doing for the big day! their faces and reaction when I said nothing were a picture but, when I explained that we are building our forever home on our farm, living with our animals, enjoying every day, what else could top that with for a 40th year of my life, sharing the experience and adventure with my wonderful wife and daughter just adds to the perfectness of it all.
Thursday we took delivery of the blocks and engineering bricks to start the slab construction which starts Monday hopefully. So the muscles got a work out as we moved them around the site in preparation for the bricklayers arrival.
We have moved our pregnant females that are due to birth nearer to the caravan so that we keep a closer eye on them as they get closer to their due dates but as we know, due dates are a guide more than anything as alpacas just like to keep you guessing!
Well thats all for tonight.
